Susan Bratton is the co-founder and CEO of Personal Life Media, Inc., a multimedia lifestyle brand providing entertaining and authentic personal content to socially conscious adults. Personal Life Media produces 40 weekly audio shows (podcasts) and companion blogs and is a publisher of direct-to-consumer online information products. The company provides automated platforms for podcast and information product publishing to serve experts who deliver motivational programs, talk shows, virtual workshops, downloadable training systems and support programs via blogs, web audio, video and ebooks.
Podcasting is changing. What began as a media outlet for hobbies has come to be dominated by large corporations. Can the hobbyist retake their prominence in the arena? I think so, profits motivate but passions prevail. PodMesh is for podcasters who may not have tens of thousands of listeners or six figure revenue streams. In fact you may have only a handful of listeners and no revenue (but you're still a Podcaster). You're an innovator, a trend setter and the true growth of the media.
PodMesh wants to be your meeting place. PodMesh would like to be your fans meeting place. PodMesh would like to be a place where listeners come to discover new Podcasts or comment on old favorites and Podcasters come to discover new listeners. Some of you may remember sites like 'Podcast Pickle'. (It's was a great site, but became victim of corporate takeover of the segment). These sites afforded podcasters a place to go communicate with fellow podcasters and share information. PodMesh would like to help fill the void.
PodMesh is an ideal I came to me one day while listing to a Podcast. I've followed the Podcast industry since 2005, podcasting started in 2004. To be honest and upfront, PodMesh is a work in progress, it's a living concept that will grow and evolve. So pull up a keyboard, grab your mic and lets get to work.
